The event will be taking place this year at Simmons College on Nov. 4 from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. in the Linda K. Paresky Center.

The roundtable event will feature a series of 20-minute discussions where students will have the opportunity to learn firsthand from professionals in the fields of marketing and communications.

The impressive list of employers expected to attend includes GateHouse Media/Wicked Local, WFXT-Fox 25, Jack Morton Worldwide, Aria Marketing, and more.

The event—part of a consortium of schools including Boston College, Boston University, Emmanuel, Emerson, and Simmons—has a strong history in the 10 years since its inception of providing students with the opportunity to find internships they might not have otherwise had access to.

Simmons Class of 2013 graduate Elin Boman’s experience at the event led to not only a successful internship but, eventually to gainful employment.

Boman was able to acquire an internship with Mullen Lowe U.S.—a Boston-based marketing organization—through the contacts she made when she attended the Communications and Marketing Careers Information Exchange in the fall of 2012.

A few years later, in her position as an account executive at Mullen Lowe, Boman found herself returning to the event as an employer.

The event has been described as a “no-pressure networking event” by Clare Feiner, the assistant director of Career Coaching and Programming in the CEC at Simmons.

Students in all years of their academic careers are encouraged to attend. Attire is business casual.
