Whole Foods Market has issued a recall for curry chicken salad and deli pasta salad sold in its stores in seven Northeast states. The salads are possibly contaminated with listeria.
The pre-packaged salads sold in New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey from Oct. 18 to Oct. 22 are included in the recall.
The contamination was found during routine testing and no illnesses have been reported.
Listeria can cause fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. It is potentially fatal.
Whole Foods is instructing anyone who purchased the products to throw them away and bring their receipt to the store for a refund.
