Fish and Game officials in New Hampshire say they rescued two Massachusetts women after a wrong turn brought them off trail and to the other side of the mountain.
Officials say they found 43-year-old Aleksey Ilin of Boston and 39-year-old Ludmila Navolodskaya of Arlington, after hiking more than two miles Saturday night.
The women had reached the summit of Mount Moosilauke but took a wrong turn leading off trail on the way down.
The situation was made worse when the women began to follow blue paint markers, or blazes on trees, made by foresters, instead of the main trail blazes.
The women were led off the mountain around 9:30 p.m. and given a ride back to their vehicle.
