As Halloween  rapidly approaches, most college students are finding themselves in a panic over putting together the perfect costume at a reasonable price. Students typically want a costume that is fun, easy to wear, and easily attainable. The perfect place to meet any student’s Halloween needs is Goodwill.

Anyone can easily put together a great costume with the variety of clothing they always have in stock, and when their supply is always within budget, it definitely makes for a great costume recourse. Best of all, it’s incredibly student friendly. Goodwill is currently offering students a 25% discount on all costumes on Thursdays during October, as well as a 25% discount on any item on Thursdays all year round. There are always tons of affordable options when you’re putting together an easy costume. Here are some ideas from Simmons students who got their costume pieces from here.

1. Risky Business

Tom Cruise’s famous outfit is a popular option for college students because of how it easy it is to recreate. All you really need is a large shirt, white socks, and a pair of sunglasses. Since it is likely that you already have these items around, this costume is best for students who are looking for something at the very last minute.

2. Velma from Scooby-Doo

Not only is Velma easily recognizable, but she is smart and the unofficial leader of the Mystery Incorporated gang. This costume is easy to recreate with the few staple pieces she wears: glasses, an orange turtleneck, red skirt, and orange tights or knee highs.

3. Mrs. Lovett from Sweeney Todd

This costume is perfect is you want more of a unique look for the night. The pieces may seem unconventional at first glance, but are actually a creative combination of basic pieces that are not hard to find. A white blouse and a flowing skirt paired with disheveled hair and, of course, a rolling pin can asily transform you into Mrs. Lovett.
