Historic Election Day draws Simmons students to polls

the rest of the Simmons community waited for polls to close. Around campus, community members could be found proudly displaying “I voted” stickers. Although many Simmons students voted absentee, others, who were registered at their Simmons address were able to vote on campus in the Kotzen room.

On Tuesday, Nov. 8 Simmons students gathered on the residence campus in Bartol Hall to watch the election returns come in. The Election Night Extravaganza was hosted by the Simmons Student Government Association (SGA), in partnership with the Political Science Liaison and the Office of Residence Life. The event began at 8 p.m. just as polls closed in for Massachusetts voters. The event included Trivia, a photo boot and DJ Maverik.

Students in Bartol enjoyed their dinner and the election event, which began at 8 p.m. in addition to special Late Nite hours, which lasted from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.
