This week U.S. News and World Report released its 2017 college rankings. The U.S. News college guide is widely regarded as one of the most detailed and trusted guides to colleges rankings nationwide.
Simmons received updated rankings for both its graduate and undergraduate programs. In the U.S. News and World Report’s 2017 edition, Simmons College was ranked number 11 for Regional Universities in the North, tied with Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn. and Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pa. The rise to number 11 is a five- spot jump for Simmons, which ranked number 16 last year.
In addition, Simmons jumped three spots from number eight to number five for Best Value Schools in the North. According to U.S. News, ranking was determined after taking into consideration academic quality and the net cost of attendance for a student who received average financial aid.
Simmons graduate programs also received recognition this week. SR Education Group, which manages the website graduateprograms.com, announced its program rankings in early September. The website has been researching and reviewing graduate programs since 2012. This year it listed Simmons at number 28 on a list of the 50 best graduate social work programs. This rank was mostly determined by user ratings; Simmons received a 4.03 out of 5 among students who reviewed the program online. Using this same program, Simmons also ranked number eightout of the 24 best online graduate nursing programs available.
