Tucked away in the vibrant community of Allston, just a three-minute walk from the B Line’s Harvard Ave stop, you’ll find a treasure trove of spiritual goodies at the beloved Ritual Arts.
Whether you’re familiar with crystals or starting your collection, the metaphysical shop’s offerings are abundant and accessible. From rose quartz to an endless array of oracle and tarot decks, there is something for everyone.
I started my crystal collection at 15, and it has remained a steady passion through the years. When I landed on living in Boston, I was largely drawn in by the music scene and, of course, my love for Simmons and the never-ending adventure that is Boston. After making the decision, I immediately started to look for metaphysical shops. At first glance, there seemed to be a lack of spiritual culture in the city.
Shortly before moving to Simmons, I visited Ritual Arts for the first time. It prompted the realization that you can find a community no matter where you are. This Allston gem not only resonates with me, but the larger neighborhood as evident by the bustling and energetic atmosphere. It’s more than a shopping experience, but rather a third space stretching far beyond the Simmons bubble. Dive bar and craft market flyers act as a wreath above the entrance, symbolizing the store’s dedication to the neighborhood.
Central to their identity, you’ll always find an animal or two in the shop. Near the entrance sits a shrine to Lovebomb, the former shop cat who has since passed. Ritual Arts to this day honors their familiars, including sassy African grey parrot Logos, who is quick to greet visitors.
Friendly staff are always willing to answer your questions. Warmth radiates between the four walls, and there is no need to feel overwhelmed. Every moment in the store feels like a warm hug – and smells like freshly burnt incense, of course.
