Thanksgiving is just around the corner and you will soon spend quality time with your family while finally getting the chance to eat delicious, homemade food. For some of you, this is the first time you will be seeing relatives in a while, so it is especially important to make a good impression.
You can easily look stylish and put-together, while feeling comfortable enough in your clothing to reach for that extra slice of pumpkin pie. We promise you that not showing up to Thanksgiving dinner in sweatpants will score you some brownie points with those relatives who judge you for your major.
Here a few outfit ideas that cater to the level of comfort and formality that best suit your style:
1. Knitted Sweater with Jogger Pants:
If you normally opt for leggings or sweatpants when you are about to treat yourself to a big meal, this outfit is for you. This outfit is on the casual side, but will make you looked polished without sacrificing comfort.
Wear a festive, colorful knitted sweater and pair it with jogger pants in a black or metallic shade. If you want to be even more casual, there are a variety of jogger pants that look exactly like jeans.
The best part about these pants is that they include a stretch band, which will be your secret weapon for eating as much as you can. Wear this outfit with some nice flats and jewelry to upgrade your look. This outfit is also ideal for lounging around post-turkey or helping out around the kitchen.
2. Turtleneck and Skinny Jeans:
Turtlenecks are trending this fall and winter, but are also a great staple piece to invest in. A neutral-colored turtleneck can easily be paired with either a loose, flowy cardigan or a trendy vest. If you are comfortable showing your edgier side to your family, wear it with a motorcycle jacket to amp up the cool factor.
Throw on a nice pair of comfortable skinny jeans and your favorite boots to complete this look.
3. Casual Dress with Knee-High Boots:
If you really want to impress family and friends, a dress is always a great option for seasonal gatherings. Since wearing tights is usually uncomfortable and confining, we recommend wearing knee-high boots with your dress instead.
This usually looks best with a fitted sweater dress, but can also work with other casual dresses you already have in your closet.
