Simmons student-athletes volunteered at the 2014 Empowerment Through Sport Leadership Series Boston event on Saturday, Feb. 1.
Sharks engaged with middle and high school girls at the all-day event, hosted at the college, serving as peer mentors during various breakout sessions.
This year’s speakers included USA Women’s Soccer and Boston Breakers player Cat Whitehill, Olympic gold medalist Angela Hucles, and former Wheelock College Athletic Director Diana Cutaia.
The event was hosted in partnership with Simmons Institute for Leadership and Change, a bridge between community organizations and the college.
