A Letter to the Editor.
The Student Government Association (SGA) forum is open to all members of the Simmons community and welcomes all questions, comments, and concerns. SGA takes all feedback seriously and aims to facilitate discussion with different departments, both administrative and academic, and the student body to create an enjoyable and beneficial college experience.
SGA is here to support senators and students alike in initiatives that are important to the community at large. Our priority as an organization is supporting the community’s needs by empowering our peers to initiate change and use their voice in a constructive manner.
In this regard however, there needs to be an understanding that implementing changes, however simple or ambitious they may be, may not be able to be realized in the short time students are on campus due to environmental, economic, or other various constraints.
We have read students concerns regarding the effectiveness of SGA and want to work with students and senators to address this concern. We want to make changes throughout the Simmons community that address both pressing and long term concerns, while we hope that all parties involved in these initiatives keep an open mind to the feasibility of addressing such concerns.
SGA’s goal is to bring together the students and departments in open forums to discuss concerns and hot topics around campus. SGA is a support system for students to share their voice and facilitate the process for change.
SGA is proud to have passionate members that truly care about having their voices heard and hold their opinions in the highest regard.
Thank you,
Student Government Association
