There are new updates on the Pedal to End Cancer spin-a-thon taking place next month.
On April 11, from 2:30-4:30 p.m., Simmons Net Impact Pedal to End Cancer team is joining with the American Cancer Society and The Fenway Handle Bar to host a spinning event to raise money and awareness for cancer.
Simmons students will be given the opportunity to feel good about their bodies as well as their efforts to fight the long-running battle against cancer.
Simmons Net Impact invites cyclists and volunteers to honor those who have fought cancer so bravely, and raise awareness as well as money for the American Cancer Society while participating in a spinning event.
This event will be hosted by The Handle Bar, a spinning gym located very close to Simmons College. The Handle Bar has 34 bikes that are available for use.
It has been confirmed that the spinning gym has asked for a complete list of participants by April 5. According to Caroline Hunter, an event coordinator, “We’ll aim to grow our team, and to set and achieve meaningful fundraising goals.”
Once the team has been created, the link to join the team will available to anyone at pedaltoendcancer.org. There will be a choice to join the Simmons team.
By participating, you will help raise money to fight cancer. It is best to stick with online donations, however.
“Pedal to End Cancer” is an event sponsored by the American Cancer Society and is an event held by many organizations across New England.
The American Cancer Society saves the lives of 400 people per day who otherwise without their support would have lost the battle to cancer.
You will have the opportunity to make a change and contribute to the cause yourself, while keeping your body fit and healthy.
