Somerville native band Hush Club is set to perform at The Sinclair on September 8th. They will be joined by openers Photo Negative and Will Leet.
In December of 2023, Hush Club posted a TikTok captioned, “If you send us proof that you saved this video, we’ll invite you to our house and make you a pizza with toppings of your choice.” Band members Alasdair MacKenzie, Liz Kantor and Chris Haley never expected what followed. The video amassed over 56.2K views and they messaged over a hundred people inviting them to a pizza party.
Following the success of the video, Hush Club sold out a headlining show at Boston’s Brighton Music Hall this past January.
After the show ended, Hush Club kept their promise of free pizza and led fans across the street for a celebratory pizza party at Graffiti Pizza.
The party gave fans the opportunity to get to know the band, make new friends, and revel in a sense of newfound community. I normally suffer from post-concert depression; Hush Club was my exception. Being surrounded by happy fans, getting to meet the band, and of course have a tasty snack heighted the experience of the concert.
Recognizing the importance of connecting with fans, after the upcoming show, they will be repeating the tradition. Rather than pizza, everyone will get a free scoop of ice cream.
In addition to getting a sweet treat, concertgoers have the opportunity to hear the single “Movie” live for the first time, after its previous release on August 13th.
If you make your way down to The Sinclair this September 8th, ignore how terribly I’ll be singing along.
