Much-anticipated Mitski concert at Roadrunner was postponed due to COVID just three hours before curtain on March 21. The second night of Mitski’s set, March 22, will be postponed as well.

In a statement via their Instagram story, Mitski cited “a positive Covid test in the Mitski touring party” as a reason for the postponement.

Mitski also said that new dates will be announced soon, and previously purchased tickets will remain valid.

“I found out the concert was canceled about 10 minutes after my friends and I got to the venue about 3 hours before the concert was supposed to start. As a Mitski super-fan, this concert was probably going to be the highlight of my semester,” said Emma Scott, a Simmons sophomore in a statement to The Voice.

“Although I’m definitely upset about the concert being canceled, I definitely understand that it’s for the best. Her and her team made the right decision to postpone the concert,” said Scott.

The cancellation is one of 20+ COVID-based concert and event cancellations so far in 2022. Artists such as Adele, Elton John, Aerosmith, Willie Nelson, and more have faced similar difficulties due to the ongoing global pandemic.
