With a valid high school or college student ID, students have the opportunity to get tickets for Red Sox home games for only nine dollars.

To participate, simply text “students” to 23215. This enables  game day alerts, which will let you know if and when Student 9’s tickets are  available.

On days when there are available spots, students can purchase tickets directly from their smartphone with the Major League Baseball (MLB) Ballpark app.

Living in Boston means easy access to Fenway, especially for Simmons College students, who get to live barely a five-minute walk from the park. With Student 9’s, it is easy to take advantage of the proximity without needing to break the bank account.

On April 5, newspaper editors from local colleges had the chance to visit Fenway to learn about the Student 9’s program, watch the Sox warm-up and take batting practice, and attend their game against the Pittsburgh

Pirates. It was a closely contested pitcher’s duel that lasted 13 innings and marked summer acquisition Chris Sale’s first start in a Red Sox uniform. After a long and nervy contest, the home team reigned victorious thanks to a 13th inning walk off courtesy of catcher Sandy Leon.

“I’ve toured Fenway before, but actually experiencing the game and joining in on the excitement around me was amazing,” says first-year Simmons student Mackenzie Farkus.
