Simmons’ 2022 Clery Report was released to the student body via email from Chief of Simmons University Police Paul Lombardo on September 29.
A Clery Report is a federally mandated annual report that provides statistics and information about crime on and around college campuses. According to the message from Simmons President Lynn Perry Wooten attached to the beginning of this year’s report, it is issued to help students “make informed decisions, learn how to stay safe, and where and how to seek help.”
Lombardo’s opening remarks announced plans for a new gender-inclusive self-defense class. According to his statement, the class will consist of just one session in order to allow a larger proportion of the Simmons community to participate. Dates have not yet been released.
