Community Resource Guide
In the wake of the death on campus, Simmons has provided its students with resources to help them cope and grieve as a community. Here is a list detailing resources around campus and beyond that are available to those who may be grappling with this loss.

Ongoing Resources:
- Counseling Center: The Counseling Center is open Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. -4:30 p.m. for in-person and telehealth counseling. If you need assistance after hours, you can call Simmons Public Safety at 617-521-1111 to be connected to additional support.
- Student Assistance Program (SAP): Simmons is partnered with CommPsych for confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is a resource available to both graduate and undergraduate students.
- Wellness Ambassadors Drop-In Hours: Wellness Ambassadors are students who are passionate about creating an inclusive space to approach wellbeing on campus and provide peer support. They will have the following office hours:
- Nov. 13:
5 p.m. – 7 p.m. – Layla – Bartol Dining Hall – Layla will be having dinner in Bartol Hall if other students are looking for company during their meal. - Nov. 14:
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Rachel – CLE Lounge – Plan Your Week
1 p.m. – 3 p.m. – Layla – Meet at CLE Lounge – Walk and Tea
- Nov. 13:
- Weekly student organization event calendar: This spreadsheet is updated regularly to include all student organization events.
- Fit at Simmons: There are weekly exercise classes taught by Simmons students in the Holmes Sports Center.
Grief Groups/Programs:
- The Dinner Party: A non-Simmons affiliated grief group for 21-45-year-olds who have experienced loss.
- Actively Moving Forward (AMF): Actively Moving Forward is a grief support program for young adults.
Hotlines:
- 988 Suicide and Crisis Hotline: This number will connect callers with a local crisis center for confidential support.
- Riverside Community Care: Riverside Community Care has a 24-hour access number that can be reached at 1-800-529-5077.
