Spring activities with SWSG

Strong Women Strong Girls is an organization that is built on a foundation of six core values including love and support, integrity and respect, discovery, balance, a diverse female community, and spark!

Every week, 45 mentors travel to 11 schools throughout Boston connecting and teaching young girls about these six values through activities, biographies of women and role modeling.

This role modeling sets standards from which these young girls can grow. Along with the six core values, SWSG is also committed to service learning.

Service learning allows a student to reach out to their community and offer a helping hand.

Service learning provides the girls in SWSG with the opportunity to apply what they have learned over the year while supporting the work of local organizations that are positively impacting their own communities.

Many crucial skills are enhanced through service learning, which allows the girls to take pride in helping a cause they are passionate about while learning new skills.

This semester, the Simmons Chapter of SWSG will be completing service learning projects. Each group of mentors and girls will choose one of four local non-profit organizations to support.

These organizations include: Horizons for Homeless Children, Project Hope, Floating Hospital for Children, and the MSPCA.

Over the course of the semester, the mentors will facilitate activities around the service-learning project, and will help the girls make homemade items to donate to their organization of choice at the end of the semester.
