Study Abroad Fair enlightened students

Simmons College hosted the 15th Biannual Study Abroad Fair on Wednesday to display seventeen different study abroad programs available to students in the Colleges of the Fenway Consortium.
The fair enabled students to examine their options for studying abroad and decide which program may best suit them.
Representatives from each program were in attendance to speak with students about their individual program.
Simmons student Alyssa Graca was one of the many students who attended the fair. Graca is considering studying abroad in Japan because it would allow her “to branch out and immerse myself in a completely different culture” and help her “to try and expand my view on the world and how other people live their lives.”
The fair was beneficial to students who are thinking about studying abroad, according to Graca. “I had a couple of questions regarding a potential faculty-led summer course…the fair gave me the opportunity to talk with the professor running the program, both letting him know of  my interest and getting many of my questions regarding the program and financial aid answered,” said Graca.
Graca also noted the convenience of the fair for busy students. “Quite a few faculty members and study abroad representatives were there, which certainly gave students who might not normally have time to drop by the study abroad office the opportunity to get their main questions or concerns answered,” said Graca.
Simmons student Christine Gronberg said that she had “an incredible experience” while abroad in Spain.
“The most important one to me is making friends across the world and gaining an understanding of someone else’s way of life. We can learn so much from each other and I hope the more integrated we are, the less likely we will be to start wars,” said Gronberg.
