Bohan takes third for cross-country

Junior Sarah Bohan finished third overall to lead the Simmons College cross country team to a fourth place team finish this morning at the Seven Sisters Championship hosted by Smith College in Northampton, Mass.

Vassar won the team championship with 42 points, while the Sharks scored 107 points in the six kilometer race. Wellesley senior Isabella King finished first overall with a time of 23:57.

Bohan ran a 6:29 pace, crossing the finish line with a time of 24:10 and was named to the All-Seven Sisters Championship First Team for her efforts. Classmate Samantha Jaffe finished 19th with a time of 25:10, while senior Allegra Egizi crossed the finished line seven seconds later for a 22nd place finish. Sophomore Mary Coletti finished 40th in her first collegiate 6k with a time of 26:04, while classmate Emily Josephson placed 44th with a time of 26:28 to round out the scoring for the Sharks.

First year Ellen Malloy finished eight seconds after Josephson in her first collegiate 6k for a 48th place finish. Junior Carol Figueiredo crossed the finished line with a time of 27:47, registering a 68th place finish and sophomore Christina Colliton finished just five seconds later and one place after Figueiredo with a time of 27:52 in her first collegiate 6k.

Junior Hannah Green recorded a time of 28:20 to place 78th, while teammate Gabby Freeman clocked in at 29:03 to finish 87th in her first collegiate 6k.

Sophomore Amelia Franklin posted a 91st place finish with a time of 30:19, while first year Mai Linh Vankirk placed 94th in her first collegiate 6k registering a time of 31:17. Junior Kathryn Nagle placed 98th finishing the race with a time of 32:49.

Simmons races again on Saturday, October 28 at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship at Colt State Park in Bristol, R.I. at 1:00 p.m.
